George Bingham comes to Sherman & Roylance with over 30 years of diversified experience in the senior living sector. Having worked in global M&A at Lazard Frères in New York, he joined investment banking boutique Lepercq, de Neuflize & Co. in 1989. As part of Lepercq’s real estate finance arm, Bingham was an integral part of a team that provided equity financing for dozens of independent living communities built by Holiday Retirement in the U.S. and Canada. He also held owner’s representative oversight responsibility for numerous Holiday buildings that were majority-owned by Lepercq’s investors, oversaw a private placement for Holiday with TD Capital, and worked extensively on an $80 million senior living acquisition in France by Holiday’s principals and other investors.

In 2005 Bingham developed a specialization in land acquisition for senior living developers in the Northeast. He initially played this role for three years for Capital Senior Living (now Sonida – ticker SNDA) and, in 2010, transitioned to working exclusively on new development for Brightview Senior Living. Under his ongoing consulting relationship, Bingham performed his pre-development role on numerous Brightview buildings in the greater NYC region and in Pennsylvania.

During his career, Bingham has had extensive experience in the execution of M&A and asset sales across a broad swath of business sectors, including senior living and other real estate sectors. He has also served as CFO and other senior finance and administrative roles for early-stage technology companies.

Bingham holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia University. He resides in New York City.
